Vanadium Pentoxide:
It is also known as VANADIC ACID ANHYDRIDE (V205). Unlike most metal oxides, it dissolves slightly in water to give a pale yellow, acidic solution. These are soluble in acids and alkalies. It catalyses several useful aerobic oxidation reactions. It is highly poisonous orange solid because of its high oxidation state. It works as an oxidising agent. It is toxic by inhalation.
